Question

How safe is it to get a guy's precum in your mouth and swallow it? Or his cum in your mouth after he cums? Is there anything you can do in such a situation to reduce the risk of infection? Or is it already bad if it's in your mouth and he has an STD? I know of course, if I want to be completely safe I need to use a condom.

Answer

So, if you find out a guy has an STD after you have given him a blowjob, it's very understandable that you'd be worried. Heck, even if you don't know for sure, worry can creep in that he might have had something. So how safe is it to give unprotected head?

Before I tell you all I know, I have to say the following information is all from reading. Some things I've read I'm sure wouldn't be accepted as up to medical standards and the following is to be taken only as advice from a friend and before you act on it, you should seek out professional advice (read; talk to your doctor). Also, if you notice any symptoms, absolutely head to the doctor a.s.a.p.

So, any kind of unprotected sex carries with it risk. Oral sex is safer than vaginal sex which is safer than anal sex. The main reason being that STD's are passed via sexual fluids but are contracted through tears or other breakdowns of the skin barrier where it can enter your bloodstream. This is a generalization and not all STD's behave the same.

In any case, if you have any scratches, cuts, or sores such as ulcers in your mouth or on your lips, you are more highly at risk when giving head. If your mouth is in a perfect, healthy condition, you might get away with it. But things like the HPV are very easily contracted and you can even get it from kissing.

As you say, the best way to stay safe is to practice safe sex and safe blowjobs - use condoms. Use them religiously until you have a long term partner and both have been tested for STD's.
