Question

Can I get an STD from a blowjob? My boyfriend and I are both virgins and are each other's first sexual partners. I gave him a blow job once and he came in my mouth. Although I'm sure that we have never had any previous partners, can we still get STDs from each other even if we are both clean and negative of any other STD? Btw, we didn't use a condom on our first BJ.

Answer

So you gave your lover a blowjob and now you are worried you might have exposed yourself to a sexually transmitted disease (or infection). Well, the short answer is that yes, you did expose yourself to the risk of contracting an infection or disease.

The longer answer is that if you partner has an STI, regardless of whether he got it from a previous sexual encounter, from using an unclean syringe or just from sharing a straw with someone, the point is if he has it, you are exposed to it.

With that said, blowjobs are generally fairly safe. Not 100% safe, but safer than unprotected vaginal sex. If you have an open cut or sore (such as an ulcer), this is when you are likely to contract anything your partner is sharing with you.
