Question

Is pulling the foreskin down from the head risky? What is the maximum you can pull the foreskin down?

Answer

If your partner has a foreskin, congratulations! Your man probably has a more sensitive penis than a guy who had that wonderful covering of skin sliced from his body as a baby. Wow! Doesn't that sound torturous? And to a baby, no less.

But back to your question - is it risky to pull the foreskin down? There's nothing risky about pulling the foreskin down on a healthy, mature man's penis.

Also in terms of sexual health, there would be no additional risk in pulling the foreskin back. If your partner has an STI, keeping his foreskin up while you give him head won't protect you.

The furthest you can pull a foreskin back is determined by the little bit of skin directly below the pee hole, on the underside. When you pull the foreskin back, this is usually the first part to have tension and where it will first become painful if you pull to far.

On my husband's only very slightly larger than average length penis, when I grip his head and shaft with just the tip poking out of my fist, I can move my fist all the way to the bottom without pain. So, if you find yourself in a situation where you can't see what you're doing, assuming his foreskin is fully up, try getting a grip just below the head and stroke up then down. Moving your fist over the head feels the best and you shouldn't cause any pain from that starting point.
